It has not been a good year (to say the least) for Scott Frost and the Nebraska Cornhuskers or James Franklin and the Penn State Nittany Lions. In a battle of winless teams today, it was Nebraska (1-2) finding a way into the win column over Penn State. The Nittany Lions dropped to 0-4 in the 30-23 loss.

Franklin would be a prime candidate to join the coveted coaches’ hot seat circle but something tells me he’s safe for a long, long time with his $38.4 million buyout. Yes, 38.4 MILLION with a capital “M”.

Take a look at the description on today’s DirectTV channel guide. I mean it’s not factually wrong but ouch!

For a team that entered the season in the top-10 and viewed as a potential threat to Ohio State in the Big 10, we’ve quickly learned they are far from ready to compete for a playoff spot this season.
